    Question spindle speed sensor

    Hello all

I have a BP running 4 axis with Mach 3.
I need to be able to have some kind of spindle sensor so that if the spindle shuts down....the Mach 3 prog will quit or error out.

My machines are over 30 years old and stuff happens. It has happened 4 times so far and I spoil a cam when I does.
If I had a sensor that said or detected that the spindle has or is slowing down,,, the program would stop or error out.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you in advance

What shuts the spindle down? How is it controlled?
If it is a contactor overload trip, there is often a spare contact on the O/L.
If it is VFD, then there should be an alarm output.
