Need a little help in the right direction

I've been looking to have a bit of fun with my CNC router. I bought it a few months back and haven't got round to setting it up yet. It was bought from someone who made it themself. The router came with a computer case with some drives and cables, a CD mach.....(software) which I haven't been able to run on the computer so may need to re-buy.

I'm training to be a mech engineer so I have and can work with Solid Edge. But despite being told a bit, I don't know what software/hardware I need to get the design from solid edge to be routed.

Can anyone show me what to read so I can learn where to get and how to use all the necessary bits?

    cheers

Thanks very much, I'll give that a good read.

I hate electronics and always predict something to go wrong when I try this kind of thing, but fingers crossed
