Help needed with lathe romi ez path emergency stop

    Hello,
I'm having trouble with my bridgeport ez-path series 1 lathe.
The emergency stop error message keeps flashing up on the screen, with hit (key) to clear. And wont clear.
I can bypass this message by manually pushing the button in on the 24v relay and then the message clears. hovever,, when you go to home the machine the slideway comes past the limit switch then comes back. Then the screen will come up with.... following error limit exceeded.
The bmdc card is comunicating with the auf board and all the drives work manually. Its just strange why the relay wont come on on its own.
    any help would be great.

    thanks
    Dave

This machine has 2 E-stop switches. One on the CRT pendent and one on the carraige. the one on the carraige suffers from coolant contamination. The box the E-stop switch is in has a connector on the back. Check it for corrosion. Then there is the possibility that the cable coming from the control through the flexible wireway to the carraige can break from flexing and age.
