    Scales for my X2

I want to put scales on my X2 until I convert to CNC.
I dont know much yet and need some help.

What I'm looking for are ones that dont have to have the DRO's mounted on the scales. Ones that you can locate the DRO's out of the way or use with a DRO control panel kit like grizzly, LMS or other.

I've seen a few types like magnetic, linear, stainless steel, composite and glass. Glass??...are the really made of glass, seems retarded to install glass strips on a mill. I don't understand the difference, especially the 29.00 - 230.00 dollar range per axis.

If you guys can help me out and have any tell all links on scales Id appreciate the help

The Glass is very thick and tempered, I have never seen one break.
The reason for glass is very stable at all temperatures, very important when measuring to 5um!

    Some decent packages from Shars.

Depends what you want to spend for a temporary system, you won't need a DRO with cnc.
