    shinano kenshi stp-58d 106 info

hi newbie here and hoping im posting in the correct forum

    i have a few of these motors a label attached say's 1.8 deg/step 1.8v 1 amp
there are 6 wires red black pink yellow white and orange

so can anyone tell me which wires are which or tell me where i can find a data sheet, as regards the volt/amp specs is 1.8v the working voltage or is it higher and is the 1 amp the maximum current this motor will draw in use

sorry for the stupid questions but these stepper motors confuse me

    cheers

Ignore the voltage rating. 1 amp means your circuit needs to limit the current to that value. To get good performance, your power supp must be at least 24v. Don't use any circuit that need power resistors for current limiting.

cheers for that , now ive managed to sort out the wires i tihink (from a driver circuit board)

2 are connected together am i right in assuming they are the 24volt lines the other four wires are a and not a b and not b so in plain enlish how would i connect those four lines

    thanks again

Assuming you are using a unipolar drive, the common (ie: center tap) wires go to the power supply. The other 4 wires connect to the appropriate pins on the driver board. The electronics on the board limits the current to whatever you set it to, independent of the power supp voltage.
