    My Ebay cheap parts router

Thank God for ebay and cheap linear rails. I picked up a mish-mash of parts and put it all together. Everything is MDF though I'd like to replace pieces in aluminum eventually.

All the rails are off ebay, it's amazing what you can find there, not one of the rails sets cost me over $100.00 Motors are part of the Planet USB kit from Probotix, table is a Kreg universal table from Amazon.

Didn't follow any plans just went along from others I've seen and operated. Cutting size is about 24"x17" so not to bad.

I did have the Probotix Dewalt mount, but wouldn't recommend it as it doesn't fit well.

    Any how some pics...

Very nice build! I think you'll like having your machine on a cart.

Yep. just don't forget to lock the casters before you start routing!

I think you are right, though I made sure to get a table that is way overrated and when I lock the casters it's rock solid.

    Just an update...

Here is how the machine is currently and running great!

And some signs I've made with it:

    The matching car (Not mine)

    Another for my car...

Nice. Are you painting these by hand? Tips, tools, etc......?

    Have you seen these?

Thanks I have not seen those.

As for painting, yes mostly by hand, but it's not hard as I just paint them then sand off the top surface and all the sloppy paint. Couple places are done by hand and have to be careful as it's the top surface, not much you can do there.

What do you use to design your signs as far as cad/cam software?

Well being a graphic designer helps, but I make the designs in Illustrator then import into v-carve to make the tool paths.

I have also used Solidworks with HSMxpress for the tool paths, but that's more for working parts, not signs.
