THIS CAN BE DONE IN A MINI MILL AS WELL, JUST DO NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT!
Do yourself a favor and find an automotive machine shop, not a general shop like the guys here. Any out-of-tram condition with a machine that needs to make multiple passes on your heads is going to cause long term trouble with head gaskets. There's a reason automotive machine shops spend the money on dedicated machines for tasks like this.
Wow you must not need this done to bad, you originally put a post up way back in april 2012. I agree with matt, you should go to a engine builder or automotive shop to have it done. We have a big planer mill that uses 12" diameter cutters that would do the job perfectly, but we don't have a fixture and don't plan on making one any time soon, especially not to do one head. There's no money to be made, even for us having the perfect machine to machine heads, engine blocks, etc. because were not set up to do that work day to day it's not worth it. Cheaping out normally always comes back to bite you in the a$$.
Send me a photo of the head. I've made motorcycle parts on my mill in the past. I'd like to take a look at performing this repair.
Why do you want the .065 taken off?
