If you have an "alien" image rather than original one or you have only a set of files (not an image)
you could undertake the next steps.

1. After formatting and partitioning as described below install DR-DOS 5.0 or DR-DOS 6.0 on the pure HDD.
To do so download the distributive packet of diskettes for installation.
Please do not confuse the bootable diskette and the installation diskette(s).
2. Install or just copy the Norton Commander let's say on disc D or E.
3. Copy files to root catalogue on disc C. These files have a little size so you may carry them over simply on diskettes.
4. Copy CU91 folder to disc C. This folder is not great too and is also carriable on diskette(s).
5. Try to substitute some files in root directory and/or CU91 folder totally.

Actually you should study the file structure on disc C as severe as possible.
The learning and the substitution of these files are key moments to achieve progress.
