- What software to CNC plasma controlling is best? Anyone has GALAAD ?
- What Torch Height control is good ? Price PHC by Hypertherm is enormous (4500 EUR)...

The Hypertherm PHC height control system is a complete, turnkey height control that will work with almost any plasma on almost any cnc machine. It comes complete with the z axis torch lifter, motor, drive and operators control panel. It is designed to work with air plasma systems or high frequency industrial plasma systems. It has advanced features such as ohmic plate sensing as well as z axis motor torque sensing. This is a complete industrial quality control that is widely used on Industrial cnc plasma machines. It is the lowest priced, full function standalone THC available. Since this is a standalone design....the software that is used on the cutting machine is not critical...it works with them all.

There are lower cost units that are simple arc voltage comparator circuits, however you will have to design and build your own z axis slide, drive and motor assembly, as well as working out the method of initial height (plate surface sensing) as well as pierce hight, cut height and pierc delay functions.
