Hello,
How can I use the function Intersection Curves on a STL file/object?
I read somewhere the BCC uses solid volumes and that STL is a mesh surface.

You can not create intersection curves on an STL. That is a surface based option.

Intersection Curves is limited to Surfaces, as far as I know, and there's not a way to use it on a .stl model. There may be ways to work around that with different tools, though. Embossing, for instance, provides a some tools that can do things that might help you out.

I was hoping for a way like the OpenSCAD function projection
Seems so easy in OpenSCAD.

Nope, no way to do that with a .STL in BobCAD that I'm aware of. If you have OpenScad, you could do it there, then import the .DXF into BobCAD.

Yeah that's what I ended up doing
Maybe a feature request for V30 or V31? ;-)
