Hello,
What do most shops do as far as shutting off power to their cnc machines.
1: Just shut of the machine at the control.
2: After shutting down at the control, kill power at the machines built in disconnect on the power cabinet.
3: After shutting down at the control, kill power at a wall mounted or other disconnect not built into the machine.
Currently we are been killing breakers at night to avoid potential lightning damage. We are moving machines to a new building and are going to install
disconnect switches remote from the machines and not do this with the circuit breakers anymore.
Just asking for opinions.

I suppose it depends on how many machines you have but a big disconnect ahead of the breaker panel means you can isolate averything with a single switch throw.

I use the machine disconnects. Be sure to properly ground your machines too.
