We have a Tool and Die shop with a lot of Manual and CNC machines........Our hand surface grinders (Harig) were getting a little old so I was sold a bill of goods and replaced them with Chevalier 6 x 18 machines............Our big Chevalier Water grinders had performed perfectly for years so I wasn't too concerned.....Well....after a couple of years these Hand machines have proven to be "Junk".........I want to buy new machines.....Looking for recommendations for high quality 6x12 or 6x18 hand surface grinders..........Can't stand the Junk!!!!

Can not think of any new US made manual Grinders. Many years ago we replaced our 1 1/2 Abrasive with Gardner 12" manual. That was a good choice. Don't think they are still in business. However we had very good experience with Mitsui. Here is the website: Mitsui Surface Grinders

Mitsui & Okmoto are very good, most good tool rooms, you will find these 3 surface grinders, I have Okmoto but have had Mitsui & Harig & others as well, these ( 2 ) seem to be the best choice for Hand/auto feed surface Grinders
