I convinced Syil Canada (Keith) to allow me to complete the Syil X4 Pneumatic Drawbar project. Keith designed and built 5 kits before he shelf the project. I got one working and 4 other kits available. What a great upgrade!

That is a very neat looking setup. What is the price of this?
Would love to fit something like this to my X4+

power draw bar kit = $550
pan cake Cylinder (you order, I have part number) = $175 (full retail)
1/2 Aluminum scrap = CHEAP
3/8 ready rod = $10.00
2 way 5 port switch (you order, I have sample part number) = $25.00
Air lines and fittings (you supply)
1/4 / 20 bolts (you supply)
set screws (you supply)
one spring pin

I have all pictures of the process. You have to fabricate the install brackets yourself, as I did not make any drawings. Very simple fabrication, took me couple evenings to complete.

If you get the pan cake cylinder off ebay and switch you can build this cheaper than full retail around 700 cnd all in.

Greetings, See picture that indicates IN KIT. You get that machined part and the machined insert with the 5 belleville washers. You have to build the brackets, purchase the cylinder, rod and button.

Hello, I know this is an old forum post I'm commenting on but id like to do something similar to to my Syil X4 and change out the draw bar and instead use a hand lever to compress the springs. Does anyone recommend where to get the longer draw bar? Would it just be a matter of using a stick of threaded rod and some belleville spring washers with a nut welded at the top? Also how many belleville washers would be needed to keep it as tight as possible? Thanks

Dave, I'm away until December, but give me a nudge then and I'll refer to my notes. My drawbar was loosely based on the Tormach design and still needs implementing! However, my X4+ is undergoing z axis bearing replacements and new electronics for UCCNC / AXBB-E
