    macro info

Just recently on the cncci website and I downloaded the serial # engraving macro. I adapted it to my machine and learned a lot (knew NOTHING about macros). I know just enough now to be dangerous.

I've been all over the web looking for basic fanuc macro information to no avail. I am looking for a reference of basic commands, syntaxes, etc.. I don't really want to buy a book at this point, I feel that right now I just want to do some basic stuff on the job for a while and get my feet wet. I learn best if I do that for a while before I dive in.

Anyone know where I can get such a thing on the web? Or any macro info or basic macros to play with, etc.?

    davek:

HAAS has a lot of similarity with Fanuc so the on-line HAAS manual may be of use to you. And in turn sometime you might look at HAAS machines.

Following is a post of mine that will get you to the HAAS site and manual.

    Find the section on MACROS.

If you do a Google search with the following string
    site:cnczone.com gar haas macro
you will get a number of posts with some relation to MACROS.

That was great Gar, just what I needed. It moved me a little further along. Now, if I could get a comprehensive listing of the system variables for Fanuc I could try out an idea or two.
