    Exclamation Windows Administrator password

I was setting up the machine (Hurco VMX64i) on to the network following a step by step guide at one point windows had to be restarted to apply some setttings and now its asking for a Windows administrator password so now I cant open Winmax.

Has anyone else run into this problem and if so how did they fix it?

    Re: Windows Administrator password

Dec0y, thank you for posting this! My service rep lost their contract with Hurco a few years ago and I was going to have to pay for a tech to drive 8 hours 1 way to solve this dumb Windows problem. With your suggestion I was able to make a boot drive on a USB, start the mill off the USB, and erase the admin password on the original partian. Everything works like normal now.

Your post probably saved me $4,000-$5,000 or more plus a few weeks of down time. I literally created my profile so say "thank you" to you.

A little more info for other people who might see this in the future. I've had my VM10Ui for about 6 years. I have it networked to my computer via a mapped drive... it just shows as the "H" drive from my desktop. I've never had an issue and never setup an administrator password on the mill. Yesterday I posted a program like I always do and I got a Windows notification saying I needed administrator approval because I didn't have access to that network location(or something to that effect).

I don't know why it happened but my best theory is that there was probably a bad data packet when I tried to post that program and Windows on the mill saw it as a security threat because it didn't recognize my computer... I'm guessing this is the default response.

    Re: Windows Administrator password

Here is how Google Translate does translating post #4 above from German to English:

Had exactly the same unfortunate problem today, caused by myself. I followed a tutorial from hurco to set up the network and after restarting, the login screen with user:Administrator and an empty password field. After a few attempts, the password "hurco" was the solution.

Hope there will be someone out there who will find the right solution with this.
