    Mastercam Question

    Hi all,
I was just wondering what units Mastercam is in, I know this sort of sounds stupid, but I'm not totally sure. Not only for measurements, but also for things like speed and feed rate.
    Thanks. :rainfro:

Its in where ever you want it .
    Go into your config.
Screen, config, nc-settings and change current config file
    (lower left) in V9.

So for cutting speeds and retract rates, what are the units? It just says something like 200 or 400, but 200 or 400 what??
    Thanks. :rainfro:

well were are you looking in the Matrial call out this could be surface feet.
or if you are in Metric for the standard pramaters pages.

What are you using as a standard so we can better help?

    lathe or mill ?
you need to set values in screen cfg.
and each tool defaults are never right
always check the posted file for speeds
and feeds until you get a little experance
with the program it's easy when you know how
remember error on too slow or move your puter
away from machine much good luck

RPM, Feed rates, Retract rates etc. are in Revolutions per Minute and Inches or Milimeters per Minute depending on what you're looking at.

There's a TON of help associated with each control in almost every dialog box. Use the "?" at the top right corner of each dialog to get the tool tip help shown below, and definately READ the help files. They are invaluable.
