Post Minimum/Maximum Segment Distance/Length in Post

Hi, I was hoping someone here may know if there is a setting in the post processor for maximum distance between points output. I ask because my current mill setting runs MUCH smoother using a spline interpolation mode, but this goes awry when you have a curve with many points connected to a straight run with very few. If I increase the density of the toolpath points on these straight runs, then all should be well. Many thanks! -O

There is in tool settings I believe.

But... I've found it better to have a better drawing. What I do is rebuild each complicated line in Rhino for more consistent point positions and quantity of points. A lot of times if you have 100 point line... you can rebuild to around 30 points and deviation will only be .001" or less

Hi. Thanks for your input. For clarity, are you suggesting I rebuild the straight segments in the toolpath to have many more segments and this may increase the points being output in the post processing? That'd be great as I don't have this problem too often. Are far as settings in the tool, would this be the tool tolerance? I have my tolerances pretty jacked up as it is already, but if it is a straight line (or curve rather represented by 4 control points) would it not still be output essentially as endpoints? I'm going to model up some dummy geometry and see what happens. Thanks again for your insight and time! -O

I missed you were talking about straight lines... but either way... the drawing itself makes a huge difference. Experiment and it will become obvious quick which your machine likes
