    Looking for plans for a small diesel engine & injector pump

    What I'd like to build is a diesel motor of about 50cc, but I'd entertain other sizes as well. Also, I need to get plans for an injection pump to fuel such motor.

    Anyone know where a guy could find these? I'd like to try and biuld this motor for a scooter project...

    Strictly I.C. had a single cylinder diesel in the later issues. Possibly could be scaled up/down to fit your need. As I remember it was one of the first diesel engines with a working pump to be successfully modelled.
    A diesel powered scooter would be an interesting project for high fuel mileage.
    Could be interesting.

    Strictly I.C. was a magazine series put together by Robert and Francis Washburn. You can look at his site at www.strictlyic.com
    You can see the index and order back issues if desired.
    Alot of the miniature engine people had subscribed to this magazine as it had numerous engine articles and how to and shop tips relating to the Internal Combustion engine.
    The small diesel was one of the last engine articles to be printed. Unfortunately the magazine is no longer being published.
    Hope this helps.

    Maybe these URL's will be of some use to you;

    If it was me I'd plan to make a direct injection 2 cycle diesel and initially use a injection system off of a inexpensive 4 HP air cooled diesel or the smallest one you can find that's direct injection. Because the injection system would be for a much larger engine your small diesel would have little throttleability meaning you'd have to run a generator under a constant load or else the engine would over rev even at the engine's lowest throttle setting.

    Doing it this way you'd avoid having to make a injection system before being able to test out the rest of the engine. If the engine was successful you could then develop an injection system for it and depending on it's success you could either keep it or use the old injection system on the engine in maybe a generative capacity.

    Horsepower

    What sort of horsepower are you attempting to achieve ?? , I'm working on a small size lightweight 2-stroke aluminium marine yacht engine 15-30 hp .
