    Tormach in Australia

    Hi All,

Is there anyone in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne or surrounds that might let us have a look at their Tormach CNC1100 . We are in the process of looking at purchasing one for use in a lab in FNQ and would like to see the unit 1st hand if possible before making a purchasing decision.

    Cheers

    Don

    Don,

Have you tried asking Tormach for a local contact that has a Tormach mill? I've heard that they provide such info when asked.

Hi Don, I live in Wollongong and have ordered one (about a month ago). It looks like it will be in transit for another month before I see it, then it will probably sit on my garage floor for the rest of the year while I wait for some free time to set it up. Happy for you to look at it when it arrives..

    HI Adam

How did you organise the freight...I take it that it is seafreight. Who did you organise this with and roughly how much?

I know this is 7 years later, but was wondering how you going with the PCNC 1100? I'm interested in making small two stroke diesel engines which require high precision and I'm looking at the 1100.
    Any suggestions or help?

Talk about a late response, hahaha! I think the accuracy is excellent, although I don't use this machine a lot and lately the spindle doesn't spool up reliably which seems like a fault, but 8years on I suppose that's not too bad, it is sitting in a damp-ish location..

One offs or mass production? Most of those parts require a lathe, not a milling machine.

    Hi Don,
I live in Canberra and have a Series I PCNC 1100 upgraded with Spindle and other minor aspects. I have had it for nine years.

If you would like to have a look, send me a private message.

    G'day Don,

I'm in Sydney and I've had my 1100 for about 4 months.

If you want to see the machine, just let me know.

I haven't made parts that small, but I have used a 1mm end mill with good results. I think the best bet would be to contact Tormach directly for their specs, (repeatability and accuracy, etc..)

    Hi
    mr Diesel
    your parts look nice
I think they are possible on CNC machines question (as others asked you ) one offs or mass production

if mass production you need spindle synchronization and tool changer
    one off may be different
May i ask which speed that little machine does ? Is it for RC or for home kind of Electric Energy production in small scale ?
