2)Micro step is set to 1/4 in drivers
3)Motors are NEMA 23
4)The motor is are directly coupled to the lead screw
which "Steps per" I should use in mach 3?
Should I use Inches instead of mm in the "Default Units" becasue of my setup?
Many Thanks
Asuming a 200step per rev motor.
10tpi x 200 step per rev of the motor = 2000full steps/inch. x 4 (1/4 steps) = 8000 1/4steps/inch.
divided by 25.4 mm/inch = 314.96062992125984251968503937008 steps/mm
If my math is right, and I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong.
There is also a utility in Mach3 that says input a distance and then measure how far it actually went. It calculates the proper steps for you. It is under one of the set up tabs but I can't remember which at the moment.
