Is there a way to program a Haas using a canned cycle or a sub program to cut straight line slots using various depths on the Z axis. I occasionally need to cut slots about 1 inch deep through a plate and can't find a way to program these at various Z depths without programming line by line.
All I want to do is start at a predrilled hole, feed down -.250 and make an X axis cut, rapid up, go back to the predrilled hole, feed down to -.500, X axis cut, etc. until I'm at Z-1.00.
I can do circular interpolation with a canned cycle and use varying Z depths but can't find a way to do straight line cuts at varying Z depths. Am I missing something simple here?
Thanks for any info
