    General consensis

I've got the FET3 stepper controller, and I'm noticing that for the cost of the three power resistors I'm going to need, for an extra $40 to 50 dollars I could have a Chopper Unipolar controller, so I'm tossing the idea around.
Is there one out there that will be able to handle 4.7A per phase?
Also, what's the experience with the Xlotex, Homecnc and other boards, any particular units with less issues/ failures, better customer service to be mentioned?

    Thanks guys,
    Art

The Xylotex and HobbyCNC are both excellent products, and both offer great support. Neither, however, will handle 4.7a/phase. The best option for higher current motors would be Geckos.
