    Sign Mounting and fixing accessories

    Hi to all,
After having built my CNC and using it for quite some things over the past 3 years, I am now venturing into sign making. I have a customer who requires a sign 90cm high x 500cm long, nothing fancy just separate letters which he would like to have them fixed directly to the wall. The letter material is 10mm thick colored Perspex and would like to know if there are any mounting / fixing accessories to do this kind of job as the customer requires.
I figured out that I could get away with cutting twice the amount of letters out of 5mm thick perspex and in 1 set I drill holes to accomodate anchor nails and then stick the other set on top so as to sandwidge them. I then transfer the nail positions in the letters on to the wall, drill and fix them accordingly. But before I do that, I just woundered if there are any accessories available to avoid having to cut the letters twice. Any alternative ideas guys or maybe some pointers where to purchase such things?
    Thanks
    Marting

It sounds like a lot of unnecessary work.
What type of wall surface? it can be very difficult to be accurate drilling a lot of holes for mounting letters. Have you thought about just using silicone or other type of adhesive? I've installed hundreds of signs and letters this way with no problems. Quick and easy. If the letters need to be standing off the wall, there are plastic mounts available that can be glued to the back of the letters. I haven't used them in years, and I don't know if they are available in your country, but a bit of web searching should find them. An added expense, but easier than cutting the letters twice, drilling holes, inserting screws, then laminating them all together! Also, 3M makes an excellent 2 sided sign mounting tape that's available at most local hardware stores here.
