Im planning to wire for bipolar parallel. I understand that all the wires will be paired up and then you will be left with 4 leads. The question is does do the wires have to be paired up at the connection with the driver or can they be paired up near the stepper motor and then use 4 indvidual leads. Im not sure if you will understand my question or not but im going to buy conductor cable and trying to save some money by using 4 as oppose to 8.

Just pair them at the motor side. Electrical it makes no difference.
