    sine wave Linear Encoder ??

    Hello ,

Does anyone have experience or knowldege how to interface "sine wave Linear Encoder " comes in industrial machinary like CMM machines etc. I know it outputs sin and cos wave of current which corresponds to its movement. I want to make a DRO for an old CMM machine.

Heidenhain design a large proportion of their products with this output, they have a suggested receiver circuit in their manuals, you will probabally find them on line, either rotary or linear. The ROD450M is one example.
They decode the receiver signal using a RC4157 differential IC.
