Slicing a solid body in increments in xy plane

    Greetings

I have several large parts (15" x 24" x 12" high) to make were we epoxy layers of material together to build the stock rectangle that contains the part. Using this square or rectangle cube stock makes for lots of roughing. So I got the bright idea to bandsaw each layer a bit bigger than the perimeter of the part at each Z level. In order to have saw templates, I am creating solids, one at a time, that represent my 1" thick stock stack. As my part sticks out of the stock layers, I'm using Create, curve, slice and follow the prompts and offset it .2 which gives me geo I can then turn into a chain and extrude 1" in Z to make my next layer of stock. I then want to print each of the stacked stock layers as I mentioned to create saw templates. When they are glued together, they closely resemble the finished part...lots and lots less roughing. Can anyone think of another way to skin this cat? Please don't cuss me to badly...I'm using V9.1!!

    Many thanks in advance!!!

Just a crazy thought, but may open up other ideas

Create a toolpath using Surface Rough Contour,
Stepdown is 1.0" (your block depth )
    offset is 0.2"
    cutter is big say Ø6"

play with the cut depths to get it right
and then verify, and save the stock model after verifying
( this is what you wamt the finish casting shape to represent )

It will be an STL----the next step I'm a little vague on, someone will probably chip in to take it further---it somehow would need converted back into a usuable solid ......
