    Solidworks file not working

Alright I'm trying to program a solidworks file I have but every time I go to program a pocket it won't pick up on the wire frame geometry. If I export the face of my part to a dxf it will work, but not as a sldprt. Any help??

Assuming that you either extracted edges or imported the wireframe. Are there solids or surfaces on the screen as well? If so, try blanking them leaving just the wire frame geometry. Surfaces and solids will sometimes block the wire frame edges from being selected.

I'm so new I don't even know what that means. All I know is that when I view the face of the part, it has a thru pocket I want to machine and bobcad won't recognize it.

So you are just pulling in a solidworks part file?

You need to get some wireframe edges to work with first. First make a new layer and call it wireframe or edges or somthing like that. Then make that new layer active by making that little checkmark appear next to it. Next choose Utilities->Extract Edges->From Solid. Select the solid part then right click OK.

That should have made some edges for you to select for you pocket. Next turn the original layer which contains the solid geometry off so it wont be in the way. Now you have some unobstructed edges to choose for your pocket geometry
