    Solidworks Part -> 2D Wireframe

    Is is possible to convert a view of a solidworks part to an autocad 2D wireframe? We have both Solidworks and Autocad in house, we just did not want to go through the process of redrawing the part.

    I know what your thinking. Why in the world would he want to do that??? Because the profile cutter is 2D and we just need the wireframe of certain views. Yes, I know it is a painful way of doing something But.....

    Thx in advance, Paul

    create a slddrw with your needed views and save it as a dwg.

    It is not painful at all. If I only require 2.5d machining operations I ALWAYS make a dwg for my CAM software input. 3D just makes the CAM slower and you need to create edges off the model anyway.

    Jerry - where are you - time for another nickel
