hi there my the welding shop that i work in has a spot welder. what i wont to know is has anyone had luck in welding AL with a spot welder. it would be to weld on hinge to lid and doors. i just plug weld them right not but that has lost of prep time and well not as contorled as i would like to have. so what i would be uesd for would be 3003 AL cheker plate .080-.125 and 5052 plan AL sheet. as for the welder i have play with it a bit and has some luck but it's time consuming.
the welder is older than i am but has a computer contorler for the hold and time as well as a 0-99 % in the given rage that u have it mauley set in. the presher for clamping is from a air clynder i have set at about 20psi. it is water cool as well. hope i gave enufe info to help me out. thanks
