    Step Syn motor identification

    Hi,

I am quite new here, but also in CNC technologies and would be very great full for help.
I have got step motor for one axis but need help identifying the motor.
    On the nameplate is written:
    Step Syn
    Stepping motor
    type 103-746-7
    DC 2.2V
    4.6A
    1.8deg/step
    Sanyo Denki
There are 8 wires from it, in pairs of 2.

I can not find any data on internet about this motor.First of all can anyone help me how to determine is this motor unipolar or bipolar so I could find correct driver for it, please?

And second, what is the torque for this motor?

    Regards

I don't know this motor myself, but you can connect 8 wire motors unipolar or bi-polar. At 4.5 Amps I would guess ~ 400 ounce-inch holding torque. For the color code of the wires you may look for other 8 wire steppers such as portescap in example.
