    stepper problem

I have a NEMA 23 uni-polar stepper. I'm powering it thru a SOC MC433 controller. Using their test program and pulsing it about 10 times/sec, it runs fine for a while pulling about .3 amp. Every few seconds the motor jumps and current goes to 2 amps. As I increase speed, things get worse and I finally blow a 7 amp fuse.

This is my first experience with steppers. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Quinchat,
It's been a week and no answers to your question, so I will give it a try.

I have one of these boards but have not tried it yet. I have read several posts on this site about problems with these.

    John,

Thanks for the info. Since I posted, the supplier has agreed to replace the board.
