Sounds good. It appears you will need load OS software and software to use a pen. Since Turbocnc runs in DOS, can you find a driver to use the pen?

since turbocnc has no pen support, its a moot point. however, carefull research about the stylistic as offered from that advert showed it has some needs.

1. mass storage - i found a 350mb pcmcia drive for $50
2. a pen - seems these are 10-20
3. floppy or ethernet - $10-15 surplus

all the drivers are out there - lots of info on running linux on the thing.

i may buy another one to run my automatic vacuum former i am working on - if it turns out cool

i do some VB coding, so even win95 will make a nice familiar platform for me, and if not, i can always use pascal or C in dos.. these programs are ALL free.. which is sweet..

for around $150 you can get an MMX233 Color version with 4gb HDD etc... from ebay... that would make a very "stylistic" emc controller

I'm a plumber that has got "off the tools" & am now working in a builidng services design office. I've spent the last two & a half years as a designer/CAD drafty so I don't have too many issues with drawing something up.

welcome to the list.. theres lots to learn here. Really. just going through the users gallery will expand our mind (particleboard CNC machine!)

you could prolly weld together a nice pipe-frame router table if you still have access to plumbing components.. really. a vedry sturdy and fairly heavy table could be made with pipe fittings, and if you can weld.. your halfway there.

Why halted posts "mono LCD display", the Fujitsu specs here below list the display as color. And they wrote "Brand new Fujitsu ‘Stylistic 1000’ portable computer".
Too bad international shippings are above 100 in merchandise.

When i got the machine, it came in a new box. the manuals, hard drive, ac adapter, etc were missing. all that was in the box was the machine, a car adapter power supply that i use with a desk-supply, and little else. I have a few old laptop PCMCIA cards i can use with it. right now im waiting for $$ to buy a memory card.. Hopeully the thing is usefull.. It looks very nice. I wish it was faster... Gotta get some more ram also...

Will it boot without the pen ?
Can pen it be subtituted with a keyb/mouse?

it wont boot without a drive of some kind -= as for the pen - i think it actually emualtes a serial mouse on IRQ4. so, all you need is drivers, and it will work with any program that supports a mouse. It has 1 PS/2 mouse\KB port, and i was able to get into the bios with a keyboard..

I plan on having a storage device soon, and will post update
