    Super X3 Problem

Today I was running some parts and all of a sudden all axis's stopped in the middle of a program but the DRO still said they were moving.....

I try jogging and nothing but the DRO on each axis moving

like I lost all communication to the machine.....restarted Mach3 and still same

also when power is on the Steppers don't even get warm anymore, Seems like no power to them.......hope its not a Burned Board

power on machine turns on and spindle runs fine,

    been running Great till now

    any ideas............thanks

I take it that because this is in the Syil forum therefore this is a Syil converted X3.

Is the stepper power supply still supplying power to the drivers? Are the LEDs on the drivers lit?

How about the small transformer which provides power to the controller board?

Sound like no power getting to the drives. Do you have a multimeter?

Probably better if you have a friend who does and knows how to use it.

Check to see if the power supply is sending power to the drivers. Should be 48 v.

The power supplies that they use are a but prone to stop working. Mine blew up quite spectacularly. Replaced it with a linear supply.

Contact where you got it from and they'll most likely send you another. They're fairly used to doing that I think.

Yes. The power supply I am referring to only provides power to the stepper drivers.

If it is dead, which I think is likely, that will not affect the original Seig side of things.

    I made mine.

As I said the Syil people are fairly used to replacing these power supplies. I know of several who have had theirs replaced free of charge.

Ask and you will probably receive.

Sorry you're dissappointed. We don't monitor 3rd party forums just what customers email or call us.

We haven't had too many power supplies go bad. About 3%. They are extremely reliable. Sounds like yours is bad. Our service is top notch, just wish you would have emailed us first instead of waiting to hear back on a forum.
