We are having a problem with the spindle turning off when we hit feed hold. It is making it very difficult to proof our programs. We have two 2412s and do not have this problem. Any help would be great.

My guess is it's a Keep Relay setting. Don't know which one on your machine, though.
Ya, weve been messing with different settings and perameters since tuesday and just cant figure it out. It being a new style controller, not even the guys at Sharp are very helpful with getting it running right.
What new style control is it, exactly?

Yes we finally got everything but the Rinishaw fixed. The machine is outstanding. The controls are a bit different then what the smaller mills are, like different M codes, but nothing thats a big deal.
What is different? what M codes? That would be pretty unusual I think.
Which specific codes are different?
The spindle through coolant, the locks for the turntable, lock for the spindle, turret realignment, and a few other things. Dont know why Fanuc changed it, but the book that was sent with the machine doesnt match the actual codes to the machine.
M codes are not usualy asigned by Fanuc. Those are machine prepatitory codes that are written by the machine tool builder. My Haas parts catcher is an M36 to turn it on and my Daewoo is an M10 to turn it on. I believe the Sharp and the Daewoo chip conveyer M codes are the same though. Most TSC codes are machine specific. M10 and M11 on my Sharp locks andunlocks the fourth. I have not heard of a spindle lock on a mill....
I'm not sure what you are refering to about an M code to "realign" the turret.
This actually wasnts Sharps idea. For some reason no one knows what is going on. We have Sharp and Fanuc getting in contact with one another to put together a data card that we can load. It should change all of the M codes to something more standard. The spindle lock is actually the machine kicking into low gear for tool changes, and there is supposedly an M code to disable it, but I am not to sure about it. The M code to realign the turret is just a M code that rotates the turret to a specific pod, and allows the machine to place the tool from the spindle into the turret without it rotating to another pod. We are much more used to Daewoos, so I cant really give the best explination of whats going on.
Well Charlton flew in today and is going to help us with the M code situation. Unfortunately we still wont have our touch probe working. The machine has been acting weird. It actually skipped a tool today when running and shattered a reamer in a live part once it found out that there wasnt a complete hole to go into. I think I need to find a less stressful occupation...Like a greeter at Walmart or something.
