Dear all,
I'm looking for a way to have a part machined / CNC'd.
Two illustrative files are attached with this message.
The part will serve as demonstrative mount on a helmet and has no load bearing function. Preferably this part is to be made out of metal in gunmetal color.
Because it is non functional it's perfectly fine to have it made out of scrap aluminium for example. This will keep the costs down.
The two cross bars are designed in the stl. file as being fixed to the main body but it will be easier to have the made separately and fixed them to the body through bored holes. This would even add to the realism of this reproduction part.
I have been looking into the possibility of 3D printing (plastic and metal) but in non of the two cases the result was satisfying. The surface kept a grainy look to it even after abrasing treatment.
A couple of hundred dollars later I want to turn to the CNC side of things and try to get what I'm looking for.
I hope it's possible to use or convert the stl. file to a file able to CNC this part. When a result is satisfying, more orders will follow.
Thanks for your comments/questions/quotes.
