    Tool crash after reconfig

    Hi Guys,

I've been using my desktop mill for a few weeks now and my 3mm collet for my spindle arrived today, i bought a 3mm Endmill to make some t nuts for my new hold-down system, all was going well and i decided to wire in my spindle relay i'd made earlier and an extra switch for cycle start so i didn't have to be back and forth between PC and CNC...

I'd ran the program half a dozen times before wiring the spindle and switch in without incident then I used my new cycle start button to run the program, it milled the pocket for the centre hole and raised to the clearance depth and started rapiding over to the top left crashing into a hold-down strip ruining the brand new bit before i had chance to hit the E-STOP...

Any ideas why this happened? I only unticked "Use Spindle Motor Output" in Ports and Pins --> Spindle Setup and changed Trigger 1 to OEM code 1000 in System Hotkeys...

I have re-ran the program after closing Mach3 and it ran fine..

Also, I would like to have my cycle-start button act as a start/pause, if no program is running i'd like it to rewind and start, if a program is running i'd like it to stop and raise the spindle, then when pushed again it would restart the spindle and continue where it left off, is this a built in feature that can be enabled or would i have to write a macro?

If a macro is needed how do map an external input to trigger a macro?

    Thanks!

    D.

I think you'll need a macro, and I think you need to add a button to the screen, and link it to your external button via OEM trigger. Then, when you push the external button, it activates the onscreen button, which calls the macro.

Can't help with the crash. What version of Mach3 are you using?

A few people have reported issues with that version. You may want to go back to between .020 and .026, if you have them.
