    toolholders BT50 - MK

hello, sometimes i need tools, so i go to classic sector; generally, these tools are on MK shank

thus, i decided to buy some toolholders for mill, so to be able to work with such tools

generally i use carbide, but sometimes, on single parts, i need a tool, so i can't wait for the dealer, because here is not a factory, thus there is no carbide tools stock

    this toolholdersholders are :
... for tools with MK shank and flatness ( generally for drills ) image 1
... for tools with MK shank and thread ( generally for mills ) image 2

what i don't like is that BT50 taper is not continuous, but interrupted, as shown in those images

should i buy and use them without worries ? or should i use only toolholders with integral shank ? kindly !

So you are worried about using tooling that is in use by thousands upon thousands around the world and has been in use for decades?
    Why?
What is your perceived problem with the BT50 taper?

hy broby i agree to clamp an interrupted taper on a classical machine, but i don't like doing the same on a cnc ... i don't know exactly why

maybe small chips will go there because operators won't be carefull ? ...
maybe taper will get scratched, and so the spindle will get too ...

is there something i should know ? or all is ok ?

If you are getting chips in the interface zone during a tool change on a CNC you have more to worry about than "Security/Stability"
In the last 12 years I can say that we have only ever had swarf issues on a tool change in maybe 3 times... A few times swarf has caused issues elsewhere in the tool change process, but the chances are so low as to not be worth the worry.
But then, you seem to have far more knowledge than everyone else so do what you want and so be it.

But then, you seem to ...
come on it's just me ... also i don't know things that may be considered basic, so ...

Explains a lot, just over 1/2 way to completing an apprenticeship :stickpoke

--- look at some of the major suppler listings (ie Sandvik, Seco, Kennametal, Iscar ) , to see what shape their toolholders are.....consider those shapes as "normal"

Personally...... taper shank tools can create problems if they rattle loose, so I try to avoid whenever possible ( sometimes you have no choice but to use 'em )

look at some of the major suppler listings
they are the same like the one that i post

you really made me curios, but after i remembered that u can not see what images i upload

    if they rattle loose
it may happen ; actually i am not afraid of that, but :
... i think that i tight the er collets too much
... i can not control if a hidraulic holder still clamps well or not

should i buy a dynamometric key ? or maybe i should train my hand

ok when i'll finish the apprenticeship stage, i will ask you to test me, so to know that i am able to go next level

i don't wish for a high score / minimal is enough me

i hope you will use red bold high height chars to correct my test ... just kidding

ps : you can not see images, so here it is : https://www.google.ro/search?q=red+marker&client=opera&source=lnms&tbm=i sch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiB0dXI7_fPAhXEECwKHdZuCPgQ_AUI CCgB&biw=1164&bih=865
