PathPilot will now run industry standard Fanuc code! No longer watered down, no longer "idiot proof". (In some alternate universe.)

Lee, that's awesome.

Personal CNC Mill - Tormach PCNC 440
it's up under products
It's pretty cool but doesn't fit my needs. Some people will love it.
Wow, that's a lot of money for that small of an envelope.
We will see how bad it is when you can actually buy it. Right now the price for the base model seems to also include the controler, a vice, one of the basic tooling packages, and a few other things (im guessing things like a keyboard/monitor and who knows what else). At the least, the extras you get with it right now, seem to be $1,000+
Edit: Introducing Tormach’s New Era in Desktop CNC | Milling Around says the base price is right at $5k
$7k for the base price PCNC 440
I don't see how anyone can do a decent true CNC mill for any less that that - not a router, a mill. It's in the same price range as the small Syil machines, and is no doubt better built, and MUCH better supported. And the 10K RPM spindle is a huge advantage over the other similar-sized machines. Ditto for the Turcite ways. What would worry me more is the limited Z travel (10"), and the low-ish power (3/4HP). Otherwise, it looks like a nice machine, though for almost the same money the 770 seems to me to offer a lot more value.

Ray L.
I doubt you will ever see it offered for $5k, they won't sell it without a controller and even without the accessories you won't get it below $6k.
You will be able to get the 440 for $5k, just like the 770 for $6.8k. Then you start throwing on everything you need as far as tooling and the controller and what not. I think the basic plus stand 440 ($7k) is most comparable to the lowest 770 package which clocks in at over $10k
EDIT: Its also important to note that these limited packages are only for the pre ordering period, and that after you can cherry pick the things that you want and leave what you don't.
Sad to see it has only got rolled C7 ballscrews..............
I had one of those - it was called a Syil X3

Is this true?? Where did you find that info? I think this was a good business decision for Tormach and there's a good market for it, but not really what I hoped for. Again nice product and a good market for it but it would be nice to see something that were small but had the same power and rigidity of 1100.[BSad to see it has only got rolled C7 ballscrews..............

it is in the spec sheet on the Tormach website.

Tormach 1100-3, Grizzly G0709 lathe, Clausing 8520 mill, SolidWorks, HSMWorks.
That interesting. My concern is not the accuracy, but I'm curious what the backlash figures are. Rolled screw technology has improved considerably, but I would have expected ground screws on a Tormach mill.
