    Touchy GUI help

Im setting up linuxCNC to control some steppers in an assembly machine, and i want to use the touchy GUI, ive got the steppers working fine, and im working out how to do the loops ill need for the process, but im very new to linuxCNC and i cant get touchy to work at all, ive looked at the manual, but im lost, in the touchy section it says just alter axis to touchy in the ini and then make a touchy.hal file, i did that but it doesnt start, it gives an error about cat find -sec MOT,and then some errors about GDK_DRAWABLE. do i need to write something in the touchy.hal, if i could get touchy to start i could maybe understand whats going on better.

    Thanks for any help

The thread is a little old, but just for reference: It sounds like what I just went through. I installed it from the live CD and had the same errors. After looking at some the error messages I found it was looking for the old emc2 directory, so I just created a symbolic link in my home directory and pointed it to the new linuxcnc directory.( "ln -s linuxcnc emc2"). It fired right up after that.
