Tracerco is currently moving towards subsea engineering, with an entirely unique and innovative underwater pipeline CT scanner. This is the first product of its kind, allowing customers to non intrusively visualise wall deterioration and the contents of unpiggable coated pipelines without interrupting production.

Michael Page has partnered with, Tracerco an Engineering Services and instrumentation business looking to grow its 37 strong R&D department with the addition of a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

The current vacancy is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The responsibilities of the role are as follows:
• Design and implement cost effective instrumentation according to customer specifications.
• To coordinate all stages of production of parts and instruments from submission of technical drawings to manufacturing.
• Develop project specifications with colleagues, including those from other engineering. disciplines e.g. physics using engineering principles and techniques.
• Discuss and solve complex problems with subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
• Plan and design new processes and produce details of specifications and outline designs.
• Make recommendations following proto type test results using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modelling and computer aided design.

Who we're looking for
In our partnership with Tracerco, Michael Page is looking for individuals with the following attributes.

• Degree qualified to bachelor level in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (i.e. Subsea Engineering, Marine Engineering, Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering), with a classification of 2.1 or higher.
• Able to demonstrate a proven track record in NPD in industry, with a strong background in full life cycle mechanical design, from concept to prototype.
• Innovative, and able to work at the leading edge of subsea technology, keeping pace with the industry's changing demands.
• Fully conversant with 3D CAD.
• Able to demonstrate a firm grasp of mechanical engineering principles.
• An understanding of whole product design, made up of multiple sub systems and components.

What's on offer

£45,000 - £55,000 plus a competitive benefits package, including an upper quartile pension, a bonus of up to 10%, a share save scheme and a possible re-location allowance for the right candidate.
