trying to enable Macro B on a Fanuc 6m on a machine center

i am trying to turn macro b on on an older Matsuura.

    i tried to turn parameter 300 bits 1 and 3 to a 1.

    i am in mdi

i have the parameter enable switch flipped.

i am able to change it, but when i flip the switch back and restart the control it reverts back to a 0.

am i doing something wrong or out of sequence?

i am open to any and all suggestions. if you need more info just let me know.

    thx

Your software may not support that option; what is the software edition?

Flip the Parameter Write Enable (PWE) switch to ON.
Go to Parameter 300, and set Bit 3 (Macro B) to 1.
Confirm the changes by pressing the Input or Write key.
Flip the PWE switch back to OFF.
Power off the machine using the proper shutdown procedure.
Restart the machine to ensure the changes persist.

Re: trying to enable Macro B on a Fanuc 6m on a machine center

so i must have hit the wrong button the first time i tried to enabled macro b.

i now have P300 B3 as a 1 after restarting the machine, but when i try to use the inc/abs button as a shift key it is not working. is there anything additional to make the inc/abs button to act like shift? or is there a way to test that macro b is in fact working?

    thx
