    Tutorials

    Hi,

You can get a few free tutorials directly off the AlphaCAM website at www.alphacam.com

If needed, they are in PDF format, I can provide a few.

    Regards,

    Luc

I know, but this is not enough.

I made all the PDF tutorials, and need a better level than this

    regards,

Please, if you have found anything past the Introductory Training Manual please let me know. Does anyone have any experience in copying parts w/ tooling already asigned?

I have attended 4 diffrent Alpha-Cam courses (3 with SCM and 1 with Onsrud tecs). I recived 1 manual, if you want to call it that, at my first class and that was it. Any type of manual is hard to find. They want you to enroll in their classes. for the most part they teach you how to draw, not machine. If you post some drawings maybe I can help.

    Onsrud

It seems very backward that they have only a training manual. :withstupi I couldn't make heads or tales of it when I took the intro class at Onsrud but after basically teaching myself I know more than I took away from the class. What really gets me is that if I call Onsrud to ask how to do something they act very irritated (probably b/c I should be taking their classes.) Fact is though, that most of those classes don't even pertain to me and my work. We are a custom cabinet manufacturer so the parts I build are very simple.

Two things that I am having a hard time figuring out have to do with drill heads and tooling:

    1) What is the easiest way to layout multihead geometries and how do I add tooling? How do I specify which axis the multihead is drilling?

    2) If I want to copy tooling, I get four choices that I would like an explanation of, couldn't find it anywhere!:

    Linear Copy: w/ tool sorting
    Subroutine Copy: w/ tool sorting
    As Original: w/ tool sorting
    As Original: No tool sorting

Thank you for letting me know that there isn't any other manual. Seems to be the trend for any software lately. If you or anyone can answer these I would greatly appreciate it!

    Peace, Heather

Oh, and if anyone has someplace they post some work they've done on alphacam I'd love to see it! Despite the training issues I love the program. I do all of my architectual dwgs on it and have designed some really great pieces on it!

    Skully,

i'm not sure i understand your first question on the multi head geometires, but you can apply as many tools as you like to any aparticular geometery.

when copying tooling i always select as origional with tool sorting, this will reduce the amout of tool changes or the need to move the tools. keep inmind you can't edit copied tools. if you use the same tools and methods often create a maching style.

the Onsrud techs are very good, at one point and time Onsrud had more certified alpa cam trainers than Plaint/alpha cam did. quite a few of them worked for planit. it maybe be worth your while to go back to Onsrud for more training.

i'll try to help where i can,

I found a basic training manual online with a google search... and also found a list of videos available... link at the end... nothing comprehensive but somewhere in the list of video walkthroughs you may be able to glean some info useful to you... AlphaCAM videos
