So you have 5V connected to your bob?

when you say "no control".....do you mean no speed control or no start/stop from mach3?

Bob always had the 5v. I've now got the 12v too. Both 5v and 12v are lit. Spindle starts and stops but races to max speed and No speed variation from Mach3

Okay, that tells me that your ref source selection is wrong
Check those settings and do me another favor....
Disconnect the motor cables at the drive output.....for testing, we don't want to keep starting and stopping the motor. We can set up the drive without the motor connected

No but I noticed that at the top where it said setup 1 it now says setup 12 and 1 is flashing.
