    USB - RS232 Serial Communications with Fanuc CNC Controllers

    Hi all,

    Does anyone have experience of RS232 serial communications with Fanuc CNC's (15's & 21's), using one of those new net book pc's and an USB - Serial Adapter?
    if so, what USB-Serial adaptor and driver did you use, any gender benders, cable configuration and comms software did you use?

    I am attempting to use a Samsung NC10 (Other brands are available!), a prolific chip set USB-RS232 serial adapter and I have just ordered a switchable serial cable with status LED's.
