i will probably be implementing g10 as typical proceedure in our shop over the next while , its something that they have not used at this company , quite often we have multiple jobs running on the horizontals and most times we have interference between jobs when it comes to tooling and such , most if not all times we just change the t , h ,d ,values in the prog and away we go ,some jobs we will use multiple d comps on a tool for a variety of reasons and sometimes we share tools between jobs ,problem is sometimes we drop the ball and loose or modify values accidentally for another job , two weeks ago i was running a large casting on the last op of course and the graveyard shift modified a d comp value to d-.725 for a production job that turns out clashed with the job i was running ,i fired on a part then had other issues to deal with and walked away , needless to say the ruff bore dia was a lil big when i came back , so i figure g10 can be used more for idiot proofing than anything in our shop ,its more or less the best solution i have been able to come up with so this crap doesn t happen again , its just a matter of getting everyone on board to the idea
