Voltage for end switches, but from where?

    Dear experienced Members!

If I want to put end switches to my stepper drived axis, and I dont want to use external power supply, where can I get it form a motherboard?

My conception is a sign without any converts.

If you know something, please do not keep it quiet!

    I see.

    Dear Jeff!

    It is so simple!

No resistors, no interface circuit, just USB 5+ to a wire on the switch button, and the other one to LPT input pin?

    Alex,

You may have to use a 2.2K resistor to make sure the pin is pulled down however most people use a breakout board with optical isolation.
