    Way adjustment on TM1

Is there any adjustments to tighten up the x and y, mainly y. I have .005 play in y.

I have actually been greasing them more often than Haas recommends. Have you ever had the linear rails replaced, if so how expensive is it.

    Thanks for the help

0.005"? Something else must be wrong. Have you checked all the screw anchors to make sure that nothing came loose? How many 'motion hours' on the machine?

It has 2300 hours and it's a 2001 model if that makes any difference.

As I wrote earlier. that just doesn't sound like enough hours unless you were machining cast iron and grinding the swarf into the ways.

Have you verified that all of the servo and screw anchors are tight under the table and saddle? Time to learn where all of that stuff is, because I think that's where you'll find your problem.

Thanks, I will get under there and see what I can find. I don't suppose that Haas has a parts break down to look at, that's available to us.

The problem more likely is in the ballscrew assembly. It could be the ballscrew itself, the bolts that mount the ballscrew to the table, or the thrust bearing pack closest to the axis motor. .005" of movement is quite a bit, so check the mounting well.

Haas Parts sells Electrical and Mechanical Manuals in CD form.. $50 each.
Just when you thought you had it all figured out, all hell breaks loose..
