    What is this piece?

    I picked up a nice used 7x12 mini lathe with lots of accessories. While I was able to identify all the pieces and tools, I found this piece that puzzles me.
    Does anyone know what it is?

    Looks like the compound mount for the lathe
    Maybe bolts into some T-slots on the carriage?
