Who can help me with a aluminum milling project?

    Hello All,

Thanks for allowing me to join this forum. If this is the wrong forum section this type of thread me advise me and I will move it ASAP.

I am into a personal project and need several irregular shaped holes milled into a ~1/4" X 24" x 24" aluminum plate. If 24x24 is too large, I could make it in sections of ~ 12x24 or other choices as well. Plate(s) would be supported underneath as required. This is for a desk top for pro electronics gear including a keyboard and track-ball mouse. Tolerances of ~ +/- 1/64 or tighter is adequate. A smooth plate finish is required but not necessarily buffer. If I could get it anodized it would be a plus.

If anyone interested in this project (I do not have tools to do this in a professional manner) I would compensate as required. The aluminum plate could be furnished by machinists or by me. I would furnish an AutoCAD drawing via file and paper as requested. I live in Statesboro, GA 30461 and would pay half in advance and final payment upon completion and shipping.

Please let me know what I need to furnish you in terms of specs, etc. You may of course reply to thread on forum but please email me directly concerning funds and payment. I would like to get this done as quickly as possible, (i.e., 1-2 weeks would be great). No one in my area has this machining capablity due to it's larger X-Y surface plus this is a one-time project.

    Thanks for your consideration.

    Sincerely,

    William Johnson (Billy)

Have you looked for water jetting ? They could probably do the lowest cost job on this.

No I haven't but I have read about water-jetting in terms of machining. Where should I post this thread? Will it be seen here?

    Thanks,
