I made a new button called Warm Up and stuck it on my WinCNC screen.
It goes to x30y48 and spins for 10 minutes, then comes back.

I think I might be able to squeeze it underneath the "Park" button... I'll try that in a bit.

what spindle manufacturer are you using guys?. Most only require a 5 min warmup higher end spindles say no warmup. HSD 915 and 919 with ceramic bearings says no warmup time is needed....

I figure that PDS recommendation of 10 minutes is being somewhat conservative and I could probably get away with less.. but I figure why chance it.

why not start a thread on spindles and maintinance!!

hsd manual page 52 on the 915 recommends 50% load for 2 min min

Probably not recommended, but we've never warmed up the 10HP HSD spindles on our point to point machine, and they lasted over 8 years of daily use before needing a rebuild.

    Question about M codes

Good Morning Jim and the group,

A friend and I just bought a used Shop Sabre 4860 router that came with WinCNC 2.4. I have been running Mach3 on my homebuilt router and Taig mill. Apparently WinCNC does not use the standard M00, M01, M02, M03, M30 codes. I have been through the manual several times and so far I haven't figured out how to control the manual changing of tools.

Mach3 uses the M00 to stop and I turn off the spindle and change bits and then continue. I know WinCNC must have this capability but I haven't found it. A small code file showing beginning and ending with a tool change would be greatly appreciated.

Jim, I have been dreaming about one of the small CAMASTER machines (Stinger). It would be perfect for my shop but too many other things going on at the moment. Maybe next year. The CAMASTER machines really look good.

    Thanks,
    Russ
